Food and Culture Lunch

by Colin Helb

The MAPACA lunch sponsored by the Food & Culture Area will be Saturday, November 8 at the Lexington Market. We have a room reserved beginning at 11:30am near Faidley’s. Participants will be able to order their lunches to go at any of the Lexington Market’s food establishments.

It’s all here at Lexington Market. There are over 40 restaurants, delis, and bakeries at the Lexington Market. Fresh seafood, meats, poultry, and produced for great meals. An outstanding variety of prepared foods: gourmet potatoes to pretzels or paninis; stadium food or fried zucchini. From India to China to Mexico; sushi, Italian, or subs to go.

We’ll have menus from the bigger restaurants so we can pre-order since we’ll be there during the lunch rush.

Guest speakers Bill and Nancy Devine, the 4th generation owner of the world famous Faidley’s will be on hand at our lunch. Faidley’s has been featured on Andrew Zimmern and Rachel Ray’s TV shows. Their world famous crab cakes and crab sandwiches have been named one of the 20 Most Iconic Restaurants, America’s Best Sandwich, and is in the book 1,000 Places to See Before You Die. Their crab cakes have even been served on the Space Shuttle.
