Abstract: 

Obtaining a job, especially a tenure-line job, is difficult, but that is only part of the process. You also have to gain tenure as well as being an active and productive member of your field in particular and academia in general. This talk will look at some of the issues along the way and offer suggestions as to how to thrive in academia.

About the presenter

John Bratzel

I retired from Michigan State University in 2012. I have held almost every office, including President, in the National PCA/ACA. I was also Executive Director of the PCA/ACA for five years. Now, I am head of the PCA Endowment. I am a Latin American historian by training and have published quite a bit. I have won the Ray Browne Award.
