Abstract:
What can we learn about the intentions of patrons, designers, artists and artisans by “reading” funerary monuments they created to last through eternity? Through studying some of the many important mausolea and landscape designs at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, NY we can derive fascinating insights into the design process and the creation of catharsis in the built environment.
