Call for Area Chair in African and African-American Studies

The MAPACA Board is actively recruiting for new Area Chairs! We are specifically looking for chairs for the following new area: African and African-American Studies

We are also looking to create a pool of people interested in becoming Area Chairs! To join the pool of potential Area Chairs or to apply to chair our new areas, please send an email expressing your interest and describing your research and/or teaching areas with a CV to vp-areas@mapaca.net.

If you have a new area you’d like to propose to the Board, please contact vp-areas@mapaca.net for more information on the process.

Job Call from Georgian Court University

About Georgian Court University:

Founded in 1908 and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, Georgian Court University is a leading regional university that provides a transformative education, preparing students for ethical leadership and service in the Catholic Mercy tradition. Courses are also taught online and at several other locations in New Jersey.

Job Description:

The Department of Communication, Graphic Design & Multimedia seeks a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor in Digital Communication to support an undergraduate major in Digital Communication and Master’s program in Communication and Digital Marketing. The successful candidate for this position will be able to teach traditional undergraduate and graduate courses in Digital Communication in both face-to-face and online delivery methods. The candidate will demonstrate evidence of excellence in teaching. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of both millennial and adult learning styles and motivation; skills in the assessment, advising and mentoring of learners and the ability to deal effectively with individual differences in ability, personality and interests. The successful candidate would be passionate and knowledgeable about the field of digital communication, be able to guide students in their career planning, and be skilled in advising and assessment. Faculty members carry a four-course load per semester, with research and service expectations.
