Activism

This area explores activism and its expression in relation to popular culture from contemporary and historical perspectives. Topics may include social advocacy, community organizing, and arts and culture movements that support equity or push for equity in society. Of particular interest is how activists use media as well as how the popular media portray activist groups, as well as how social media can be used to inspire and grow activist movements.
