From 1941 to 1964, the iconic Miss Rheingold contest was a highly successful marketing campaign for Rheingold Beer. The film, produced by 1960 Miss Rheingold finalist Anne Newmann, features interviews with former Miss Rheingolds, advertising executives who worked on the campaigns, historians, and fans. Beauty and the Beer is a highly personal exploration of the Miss Rheingold phenomenon.
