Abstract: 

Social media has become a new platform to enable brands connecting with consumers who tap into social media on a daily basis. Nearly all websites are linked to social accounts, and social platforms are filled with content grabbed on traditional websites. Furthermore, the advent of mobile devices, and the awareness of smartphones’ domination in our daily habits are offering virtual retail experiences that have given more power to consumer encouraging to comment on and influences product lines and created a brand loyalty.

While social media and consumer communities also offer retailers an instant source of customer feedback and information that provides a new avenue to learn exactly what their consumers wants and when. Being able to integrate and synchronize this data to adjust supply chain operations is how high street retailers will be able to breathe life back into their profit margins.

This presentation will be focusing on how fashion brands focus on building long term relationships, creating brand loyalty, facilitating repeat purchases, controlling the quality of products, and customer services and value

Professor of Fashion at Savannah College of Art and Design Atlanta, GA. Previously creative director at Fashion Angels Enterprises and chairperson and an associate professor of the Fashion Department at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, WI. Published “Workbook for the Fashion Designer: The Complete Guide to Fashion Illustration” Mar. 2012 (translated in Chinese and published in HongKong in May, 2012) and currently working on “Mastering Fashion Illustration with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS6” with Pearson.
